Zhu Zhu pets by Cepia, LLC were extremely popular during Christmas 2009. In fact, they were flying off the shelves faster than parents could buy them. These cute, cuddly and colorful hamsters were popular with kids because they seem to have a mind of their own due to the artificial intelligence known as smart chip technology. They are so smart that it's like having real pet hamsters – minus the mess. So what's next in Zhu Zhu land? Kung Zhu pets!
Kung Zhu Pets – Not Just for Boys
This year the creators of Zhu Zhu pets have come up with something special to appeal to the boys – Kung Zhu pets. Launched in June, 2010, any parent with young boys knows just how much they enjoy anything to do with battle. From Star Wars the Clone Wars to the latest action hero movie, boys will spend hours recreating battles from their favorite television shows and movies, so they are sure to love creating their own battles over and over. This is exactly what they get to do when they play with Kung Zhu hamsters. And while Kung Zhu pets are sure to be popular with the boys, girls are bound to fall in love with them as well.
Kung Zhu hamsters are so cute and cuddly but as they are trained they turn into real warriors ready to battle their opponents. There are eight of these colorful, furry creatures in all, which are split into two groups: The Ninja Warriors and the Special Forces. And like the original Zhu Zhu hamsters they have plenty of accessories available such as training armour, a battle ground and various training centers, bridges and tunnels that they can navigate through.
Special Forces Vs. Ninja Warriors
The Special Forces army includes Seargent Serge, Rivet, Rock'O and Stonewall. They are training for battle against the Ninja Warriors, Yama, Drayko, Azer, and Thorn. Children will love training their King Zhu pets as they transform from cute and cuddly to battle-ready, and if Christmas 2009 is any indication of what Christmas 2010 will be like, then these little critters will be flying off the shelves way before December. Kung Zhu pets are also sure to be a hit for larger families. Each child can get his or her own hamster, while accessories like the battle ground will make great together-gifts.
The recommended age for Zhu Zhu pets is four and up since they do have small parts that may pose a choking hazard to young children. And while these are specifically geared toward children between the ages of four and ten, older kids as well as adults may just find them hard to resist, which makes Kung Zhu pets a great activity for the entire family.
